Watertrapper · Podica senegalensis
A shy, elusive water bird that swims low along shaded riverbanks with its head pumping back and forth. It has a sleek brown body, a white neck-stripe and vivid red bill and feet. It hugs the cover of overhanging branches, slipping away at the first sign of a boat or watcher, making it a real prize to spot.
