African Pied Wagtail
Bontkwikkie · Motacilla aguimp
A smart black-and-white waterside bird with a long, constantly wagging tail and a white eyebrow stripe. It walks and runs energetically along riverbanks, sandbars and camp lawns, snapping up insects, and often becomes tame around picnic sites. Pairs defend stretches of riverbank and roost communally, their cheerful whistling calls carrying across the water.
