Black-headed Oriole

Swartkopwielewaal · Oriolus larvatus

A vivid golden-yellow bird with a clean black head and a salmon-pink bill, present in Kruger all year. It keeps to the canopy of large trees where its colour blends surprisingly well with sunlit leaves. The far-carrying, melodious whistle is one of the classic background sounds of the lowveld bush.
