Blue Waxbill

Gewone Blousysie · Uraeginthus angolensis

A dainty, much-loved little finch with a powder-blue face, breast and rump set against a soft fawn-brown back. Pairs and small flocks hop about on the ground beneath thorn trees, picking up grass seeds and small insects, and come readily to camp lawns and spilt seed. The gentle blue colouring makes it one of the bush's prettiest small birds.
