Boomslang

Boomslang · Dispholidus typus

A slender tree snake with huge eyes and a short, blunt head. Males are often bright green, females brown. It spends its life in trees hunting chameleons, birds and eggs. Its venom is potent but it is very shy and rarely bites, keeping its fangs near the back of its mouth. Left in peace high in the branches, it poses little danger to careful watchers.
