Cattle Egret

Veereier · Bubulcus ibis

A short, sturdy white egret with a yellow bill that keeps close company with large animals. As buffalo, elephant or antelope walk, they flush insects from the grass and the egret grabs an easy meal. When breeding it flushes orange-buff on its head, chest and back.
