Crested Guineafowl

Kuifkoptarentaal · Guttera edouardi

A shy relative of the common guineafowl, instantly told by its frizzy black crest and red eyes. It keeps to dense riverine forest and thickets, where small flocks forage on the ground for seeds, fruit and insects. In Kruger it is mostly found along the northern rivers and shady tangles.
