Lion
Leeu · Panthera leo
The largest cat in Africa, with a tawny sandy coat. Adult males grow a thick mane around the head and shoulders that darkens with age. Lions live in family groups called prides and spend most of the day resting in the shade. They hunt mostly at dusk and dawn, often working together to bring down big prey like zebra and buffalo.
