Nile Crocodile
Nylkrokodil · Crocodylus niloticus
Africa's largest crocodile and one of Kruger's most thrilling sights. Lurking just below the surface with only eyes and nostrils showing, it can grow over five metres long. A patient ambush hunter, it grabs animals coming to drink, then spins in a 'death roll'. Mothers gently carry their hatchlings to the water in their mouths.
