Red-billed Firefinch

A tiny, confiding finch, the male washed rosy red with a pink bill and a sprinkle of small white spots on the flanks; the female is warm brown with a red rump. It feeds unobtrusively on small seeds on the ground, often around camps and human dwellings. It is the main host species parasitised by the Village Indigobird.
