Birds Larks Common

Sabota Lark

Sabotalewerik · Calendulauda sabota

A common, easily seen lark of open bushveld, warm brown and streaky above with a bold pale eyebrow and a streaked breast. Unlike many larks it perches openly on bushes and fence posts to sing a varied, musical song that often includes imitations of other birds. It feeds on insects and seeds on the ground between scattered trees.
