Smith's Bush Squirrel (Tree Squirrel)
Boomeekhoring · Paraxerus cepapi
This lively little tree squirrel is a favourite at picnic spots, where it scampers about looking for crumbs. It has a grizzled grey-buff coat and a long bushy tail that it flicks when alarmed. It lives in family groups in tree holes, and when a predator is near it gives a sharp chattering alarm call and freezes flat against a branch to hide.
