Snouted Cobra
Wipneuskobra · Naja annulifera
A large, thick cobra that rears up and spreads a broad, impressive hood when disturbed. Its bite delivers powerful venom, so it is treated with great caution and given room to escape. Colours vary from yellowish to dark brown, sometimes banded. It shelters in old termite mounds, hunting toads, birds and other snakes, and is most active around dusk.
