Verreaux's Eagle

Witkruisarend · Aquila verreauxii

A glossy black cliff-dwelling eagle that specialises in hunting dassies among the rocks. In Kruger it is restricted to the few hilly and rocky areas, where pairs soar along the slopes; the bright white V on the back makes a soaring bird unmistakable from below or behind.
