Yellow-billed Stork
Nimmersat · Mycteria ibis
A graceful white stork with black wing tips, the Yellow-billed Stork wades slowly through shallow water hunting for fish. It holds its bright yellow bill open under the surface and snaps it shut the instant it touches prey. In the breeding season its face turns a beautiful deep red and its feathers take on a soft pinkish blush.
