African Hawk-Eagle

Grootjagarend · Aquila spilogaster

A bold, fast hunter with a dark back and a white chest streaked with black. Pairs often hunt together, one flushing prey while the other strikes. Powerful and aggressive for its size, it ambushes game birds like francolins and guineafowl, and small mammals, with a sudden surprise dash from cover.
