Donkersingvalk · Melierax metabates

A handsome grey hawk with long orange-red legs, a red bill base and fine grey barring on its belly. It gets its name from the musical, piping song it 'chants' from a treetop in the breeding season. A patient hunter, it watches from a perch and pounces on lizards, snakes, insects and small birds below.
