Grey-headed Kingfisher

Gryskopvisvanger · Halcyon leucocephala

A handsome summer kingfisher with a pale grey head and breast, a chestnut belly and a vivid red bill. At rest it looks fairly plain, but in flight it flashes brilliant blue wings and rump. It hunts insects and small reptiles from low perches in dry bush, arriving for the warm months and leaving by winter.
