Kittlitz's Plover

Geelborsstrandkiewiet · Charadrius pecuarius

A small, pale plover of open mud and short grass, sandy-brown above with a creamy-buff wash below. A black line runs from the bill through the eye and around the nape. It nests on bare ground and cleverly covers its eggs with sand or dung when slipping away, keeping them hidden from sharp eyes.
