Martial Eagle

Breëkoparend · Polemaetus bellicosus

Africa's largest eagle, a true heavyweight hunter with a dark brown hood, a white belly speckled with black spots, and a short crest. Its grip is strong enough to break a person's arm. From high up it spots prey kilometres away, then dives to catch animals as big as small antelope, monkeys and game birds.
