Peregrine Falcon

Swerfvalk · Falco peregrinus

The fastest animal alive, the Peregrine kills birds in mid-air with a breathtaking high-speed dive called a stoop. In Kruger it is scarce and tied to cliffs and rocky country, where its dark helmeted head, anchor-shaped silhouette and explosive hunting flight set it apart.
