Red-faced Mousebird

A smooth blue-grey mousebird with a bright red face mask, more streamlined than the Speckled Mousebird and a much stronger flier, whistling as it speeds overhead. Small flocks roam open woodland and gardens feeding on fruit, leaves and flowers, present in the park all year round.

How to identify it

Sleeker grey mousebird with a bare red face and bill; flies fast and straight, unlike the floppy Speckled.

Listen for its call

Whistled "tit-wee" call, often given in fast flight.
