Tambourine Dove

A shy dove of deep shade, dark above and gleaming white below, that explodes from the forest floor on rufous wings when disturbed. Its soft, far-carrying coo runs down in a long series. It haunts riverine forest and dense thickets along the big rivers, resident year-round.
