Tawny-flanked Prinia

Bruinsylangstertjie · Prinia subflava

A small, slender warbler with a long tail that it habitually cocks and flicks. It is grey-brown above with a pale eyebrow and warm tawny flanks. Active and restless, it works through rank grass, weedy tangles and low scrub hunting insects, usually in pairs or family parties. The plaintive, repetitive call and bobbing tail make it easy to recognise.
