Tawny Eagle

Roofarend · Aquila rapax

A large brown eagle that comes in many shades, from pale sandy-tan to dark chocolate. It's a clever opportunist that hunts, scavenges and even steals food from other birds. With fully feathered legs and a fierce stare, it often perches on dead trees watching for an easy meal, then bullies smaller raptors off their catch.
