Three-banded Courser

A scarce, nocturnal courser of dry northern woodland, also known as Heuglin's Courser. It is pale and finely marked, with rufous and dark bands looping across the chest. By day it rests motionless in the shade of a bush, and by night it forages for insects, often appearing on quiet roads.

Found in mopane and dry woodland of the northern park, active on roads and clearings at night.
