African Goshawk
Afrikaanse Sperwer · Accipiter tachiro
A woodland and forest hawk that hunts by surprise, dashing through the trees after birds, lizards and small mammals. Shy and easily missed, it often reveals itself with a steady ticking call given during a high circling flight at first light over its leafy territory.
