Cape Turtle Dove

Also called the Ring-necked Dove, this pale-grey dove with a black neck-bar is one of the most abundant birds in the park, its monotonous cooing forming the constant background to a bushveld day. It feeds on seeds on the ground and breeds year-round across all habitats.
